Where We're Going
We retire in 9 years from our state jobs and hope to have everything in place on our property in Walterboro by then, so that we can further extend our Lippitt Morgan family to more than just one broodmare.  Patsey has generously offered to sell our farm some of her breeding stock as we make the transformation in the next few years from state workers to retirees.

When we build our barn, we will board horses and have different levels of care available:  full care, partial care, and self care.  We have not decided how many horses we will take on for boarding.  Also, we will offer riding lessons for students with their own horses.  There is a posibility that I will have school horses by then, but it is not in the plans for now.

As of  September 2005, we have started to implement our plans for our farm.  Mr. Jack Kornahrens, Natural Resource Consultant, (and former fellow police officer at NCPD) is helping in laying out the pasture, barn, pond and home location.  He will be instrumental in clearing and preparing the land for these purposes.

We have burned the land, or at least 2/3 of the burnable land as of April 2007.  The land was very wet during this past winter making burning almost impossible.  A summer burn is to follow, as recommended by Jack.

As time goes by, we find that we are constantly changing our goals to meet the economy, our financial abilities and our physical abilities.  Hay has been extremely expensive this year and thus we have been unable to buy or lease another brood mare.  Financially we are attempting to recover from last year's start up expenses of Source Lippitt Morgans and have decided to wait just a little longer before clearing land at this point.  Physically, we're powerhouses.  That is good.
